I am a mother, a runner and I like to write about these topics. I figured someone out there (besides my wonderful parents) might enjoy reading some of these stories, so I started this blog. If you are looking for quirky stories about running or momming (yes I just made that word up), or stuff that makes you go “hmmmm…” I think you are in the right place.
Thanks for starting this blog! I can’t wait to read your stories.
I’ve re-read this blog several times and although I am not myself a runner, I am the mother of runners, the wife of a runner, the grandmother of runners, the mother-in-law of a runner and know a whole lot of runners through family members. I have stood on many sidelines rooting for my running family and have spent many hours listening to their ‘running tales’. Although I’ve never felt the runner’s high myself I’ve experienced the highs felt by family members when they’ve completed a race and I’ve been able to bask in their feeling of accomplishment. I’ve also been there to console them when they’ve trained hard for a race and experienced their letdown when they could not complete the race. So my two cents worth is that although I’m not a runner, I’ve come to understand their need to run and I love to brush up against their passion and feel a vicarious thrill when they’ve accomplished their goal, and will always be there on the sidelines cheering them on.
Love you Mom! To say you have been and continue to be an amazing influence in my life is an understatement and cliche – but it’s the simple truth. Your ears must be burning because I’m writing about this very subject right now. Spectators are the unsung heroes of our races – watch for my upcoming post.
Wow! What a great idea and great content. This will be on my list for regular visits…….Love Dad
